Zelkin Fiskekrogen is a fighting game character from the Star Gladiator series of 3D fighting games.
Profile
A blue-feathered bird-like humanoid alien who comes from the Planet Klondike in the Andromeda Galaxy and fights with a Plasma Claw.
Story
In Klondike's past, a huge meteorite landed, causing the seas of Klondike to develop strong amounts of acidity. This sudden and unexpected turn of events would eventually lead to the extinction of the mammals on the planet, while the bird species had survived, evolving into bird-like humanoid aliens. These aliens then adapted and established a disciplined and independent society that was based on the principles of both honor and nobility.
Zelkin was well-known and renowned in the Klondike Army for his courageous bravery and strong pride. However, four years ago prior to the events of Star Gladiator, a fellow Klondike Army comrade was captured by the Earth Federation Army during a war between Earth and Klondike over a satellite in a neutral zone in space that produced rare and valuable metals. Determined to help save his comrade, Zelkin eventually made an arrangement with the Earth Federation Army in that he would allow himself to be taken prisoner while his comrade would be released.
Soon after, the Earth Federation Army was defeated by the Klondike Army, and a release order was issued for Zelkin. However, the order was never fully processed due to both mistakes and corruption by Earth Federation Army officials who were still angry and bitter about the war. Klondike had soon engaged in war with other planets in the Andromeda Galaxy and because of this, Zelkin was soon forgotten by his own people, who were falsely told that he had died in prison.
Four years later, Dr. Edward Bilstein initiates his planned escape and comes across Zelkin. Upon sensing a great amount of Plasma Power within him, Bilstein offers him a deal; join up with him, and he'll be able to exact his vengeance towards Earth and its people. Though Zelkin senses a dark and malevolent intent from Bilstein, he still feels indebted to him for rescuing him from prison. Thus, Zelkin becomes a member of the Fourth Empire, though he questions whether or not Earth and its people are truly evil and if his vengeance is justified.
In Plasma Sword, Zelkin, who had finally realized that not all of the Earthlings are cruel and brutal, defects from the Fourth Empire and travels to Zeta after hearing and learning about Bilstein's Ghost and the unexpected return of the Fourth Empire. Resolved to atone for his past actions, he allies with Hayato Kanzaki (who is said to be a past acquaintance of Zelkin prior to the events of Star Gladiator) and the rest of the Star Gladiators in order to battle against Bilstein and the Fourth Empire.
In Zelkin's true ending, he and Hayato battle against each other in an honorable duel, in which he emerges as the victor and that eventually gives a head feather to Hayato as a true sign of mutual respect; an ancient Klondike tradition before soon departing back to his home.
